<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the inclination of a detected body further positively with simple structure by enclosing a sphere movably between a base body and a cover body, along a recessed groove formed in an extended direction of an inclined face. SOLUTION: A light emitting part 1 and a light receiving part 2 are fixed by a base body 3 in such a way as to provide inclined faces 14, 14 between the light emitting and receiving parts 1, 2, and a sphere 5 is movably enclosed between the base body 3 and a cover body 4. A recessed groove 15 formed at the inclined face 14 acts as a specified guide groove for the moving locus of the sphere 5 at the time of a detecting sensor being inclined. The light of a light emission diode 10 on the light emitting part 1 side is received by a phototransistor 7 on the light receiving part 2 side through apertures 13c, 13a of transparent resin 13, 9. While the inclination of the detecting sensor mounted on a detected body is within an angleθof the inclined face 14 to the reference face, the sphere 5 in a reference position shuts out light emission 10 so as not to receive light 7. When the detecting sensor is inclined exceeding the angleθ. The sphere 5 moves along the recessed groove 15 onto the inclined side without shutting out the light emission 10, and a current corresponding to receiving light 7 is generated.
