PURPOSE: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a driving method thereof are provided to prevent a horizontal line pattern due to a coupling operation of a parasite capacitor in a blanking period. CONSTITUTION: The LCD comprises an LCD panel(22) in which the liquid crystal cells are arranged with an active matrix type. A gate driver(24) drives gate lines(GL1 to GLn) of the LCD panel(22). A data driver(26) supplies effective pixel signals to data lines(DL1 to DLm) of the LCD panel(22) within an effective data supply period and supplies an identical dummy pixel signal in blanking period(BP). A timing control unit(28) controls the gate driver(24) and the data driver(26). The LCD panel(22) comprises a TFT(Thin Film Transistor) formed at every crossing portions of gate lines(GL1 to GLn) and data lines(DL1 to DLm) and a liquid crystal cell connected with the TFT.
