The device has a polishing disc (15) placed at one end of a threaded shaft (20). The disc is attached with the shaft by friction of two stops (10) e.g. nuts, which are opposite to each other. A protection unit (5) extends axially between one of the stop and the end of the shaft, such that a direct contact between a polishing surface and the end of the shaft or the stops is prevented.
