PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet storage means capable of compatibly reducing the weight with a simple configuration and positioning the sheet with excellent accuracy, and an image forming apparatus having the same. SOLUTION: Side regulation means 42 and 43 to regulate the position in the width direction orthogonal to the sheet carrying direction of the sheet stored in a sheet storage unit 40 are provided on a bottom plate 45 to constitute a bottom surface of the sheet storage unit 40 to store the sheet of a sheet storage device 4 which is attachably/detachably fitted to an image forming apparatus body. A plurality of slits 31 and 32 extending in the width direction are formed in the bottom plate 45 with a predetermined interval, an abutting part is formed on a bottom surface of an area between the plurality of slits of the bottom plate 45, and the abutting part is abutted on a facing member facing a bottom plate of the image forming apparatus body. The side regulation means 42 and 43 are slidably provided in the area between the plurality of slits, and the side regulation means 42 and 43 are supported by the facing member of the image forming apparatus body via the abutting part.
