STRUCTURE FOR INSTALLING AIRBAG MODULE OF STEERING WHEEL

PURPOSE: An installing structure of an airbag module for a steering wheel is provided to improve the unfolding efficiency of an airbag by suppressing the interference of each components in the airbag module and to improve the strength of the steering wheel by changing the shape of a core. CONSTITUTION: A main body contains a rim(110) to form an outer, a core to form a center and a spoke(130) to connect the core and the rim. An inflator(220) is installed in the rim. The one end of the inflator is connected with a connector(240) and the other end has a nozzle(222) to discharge gas. An airbag(210) is expanded by receiving gas from the inflator. A cushion housing(230) stores the airbag, and is fixed on the upper part of the core. A connecting pipe(250) shields the nozzle and connects the inflator with the housing. The inflator is installed inside the rim. Thereby, the operating defects are minimized by securing the storage space of the inflator under the airbag.
