<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera usable to a limit of an operational life of a battery corresponding to characteristics of a voice reproduction mode and a used battery. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic camera calculates a power supply threshold voltage Vsh capable of performing voice reproduction in a reproduction mode selected in a voice CODEC 26 by Vsh=Vhx+Isx/rx by a microcomputer 33 by defining an internal resistance of the battery 12 as rx, system voltage of the selected voice reproduction mode as Vhx and load current as Isx without a stop of a system. A fact that voltage of a power source which uses the battery 12 is equal to or more than Vsh is set as a stable operational condition of the electronic camera in the selected reproduction mode by ASIC (application specific integration circuit) 29, a voice reproducing operation in the selected reproduction mode is prohibited unless power supply voltage reaches the power supply threshold voltage Vsh, the voice reproducing operation in an performable reproduction mode is performed exactly corresponding to secular change of voltage according to a type of the used battery 12 and a comfortable and smooth camera operation can be performed by effectively using the battery 12 to the limit of the life. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
