<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a public utility charge management system and method for smoothly performing the payment of public utility charge by allowing a contractor side to know the public utility charge to be paid. <P>SOLUTION: This public utility charge management system is provided with a host computer 10 and a meter-reading machine 20 which is set in the contractor house of the public service of at least one of electricity, gas, and water supply, and acquires usage data associated with the usage of the public service, and transmits it to the host computer. The host computer is provided with a control part 2 and a contractor information DB4 for storing the address information of a terminal 30 owned by the contractor. The control part calculates public tariff to be paid by the contractor based on the received usage data, and transmits the public utility charge to the terminal owned by the contractor based on the address stored in the contractor information DB. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
