PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an picture processor which converts luminance color difference signals after processing image signals to RGB signals so that a color difference or a hue may not change, if there is not correspondence between the luminance color difference signals after processing the image signals and the RGB signals when the luminance color difference signals are converted to RGB signals after image processing, thereby outputting a high quality image. SOLUTION: The image processor comprises an RGB-LCaCb converter 11 for converting RGB signals with M gradations (0-255 values) to luminance color difference signals, aγconverter 12 for applyingγconversion (image processing) to luminance signals of the converted luminance color difference signals, an LCaCb-RGB converter 13 for converting theγ-converted luminance color difference signals to RGB signals with N gradations (N > M), and an overflow corrector 14 for correcting the converted RGB signals with N gradations (N > M) to RGB signals with M gradations so that the color difference does not change.
