PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handle bar cover for a bicycle to be used in summer capable of bringing the rate of ultraviolet transmittance close to zero as much as practicable. SOLUTION: The handle bar cover includes a body part 11 furnished with a handle bar insertion hole 12 and a hand insertion hole 15. Near the handle bar insertion hole an eyelet (hole part) 17 is provided, and a fixing cord 18 is attached to the eyelet, and each cover is fixed by this fixing cord to the handle bar of the bicycle. The body part is formed from a material having aerating or ventilating property such as a lace or mesh cloth. To the rear surface of the body part 11 a photo shutoff member consisting of a thin, black textile material (polyester taffeta) is sewn when the covers are put on as the backing material at least in their portions covering the hands. A silver coating consisting of silver acrylic material is applied to the surface of the black backing material on the body side. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
