PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic photograph making apparatus with a lighting unit that enables a user to optionally determine a position as he or she likes and then obtain lighting increasing amusements. SOLUTION: This automatic photograph making apparatus is equipped with a flash part 110 which emits flash light, a test light 120 which projects light nearly in the projection direction of the flash light, a selection part 130 which determines the color of the flash light to be emitted from the flash part 110, and a shutter button 140 which determines imaging timing. The user operates the selection part 130 to determine the color of the flash light to be emitted by the flash part 110, confirms a place to be irradiated with the flash light by using the light projected by the test light 120, and depresses a shutter button 140 in proper timing.
