PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the degree of freedom in a cable and space saving for mounting an encoder by making flat the cable connected to a rotational angle detection mechanism for locking to a tongue. SOLUTION: In the cable fixing structure of the encoder, the cable (5) is locked by a cantilever type tongue (11) that is formed in one piece at a side (1a) of an encoder case (1) for fixing only one side, and the degree of freedom when mounting the cable (5) and space for mounting the encoder are set to be smaller as compared with before.
