<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric barrier discharging discharge lamp capable of lighting without an outer electrode, and a lighting device for lighting the discharge lamp. <P>SOLUTION: The dielectric barrier discharging discharge lamp 21 is structured with a tubular glass lamp vessel 211 not equipped with outer electrodes at both ends, arranged between a pair of the sockets 22, 22 facing each other formed of a conductive material having a flexible rubber like elasticity on which, lamp-inserting holes 220 are formed. The lighting device for lighting the dielectric barrier discharging discharge lamp 21 is formed by press fitting one end of the discharge lamp 21 into the lamp-inserting hole 220, press fitting the other end of the discharge lamp 21 into the lamp-inserting hole 220 of the other socket 22, connecting one of feeding harnesses 25 from a high-frequency power source 24 to one harness-connecting part 221 inside the pair of the sockets 22, 22, and connecting the other feeding harness 25 from the high-frequency power source 24 to the other harness-connecting part 220 inside the pair of the sockets 22, 22. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
