<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toll collection method and system enabling a plurality of vehicles to pay tolls using a single ETC card; a lane controller; and an on-vehicle device. <P>SOLUTION: The on-vehicle device is fitted with functions as a master on-vehicle device. Slave on-vehicle devices whose relationship with the master on-vehicle device are preset are usable in combination with the master on-vehicle device. Not less than one or two slave on-vehicle devices can be used and their number can be retained in the master on-vehicle device as information about the number of vehicles fitted with the slave on-vehicle devices. Because the relationship with the master on-vehicle device is preset in each slave on-vehicle device, entrance information or the like is retained in each slave on-vehicle device as is the master on-vehicle device to permit communication with the lane controller, so as to enable the tolls of the vehicles fitted with the slave on-vehicle devices to be collected without errors through settlement using the ETC card inserted in the master on-vehicle device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
