PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust flash output amount based on the distance from the photographing object in the camera flash circuit.

SOLUTION: A flash control circuit is provided for a flash circuit (12) that comprises a flash capacitor (29) and a flash lighting device (24). The flash control circuit comprises a current limiting device (62) that is in series with the flash lighting device (24) and a bypass circuit (61) that is in parallel with the current limiting circuit (62). The bypass circuit (61) has a first setting that bypasses the current limiting device (62) and a second setting that does not bypass the current limiting device (62).
