PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a login restriction method that increases a security level of an information processing device by preventing unauthorized access to the information processing device by brute force attack on a character string without addition of new hardware. SOLUTION: The login restriction method, which restricts logins to an image processing device or the like, upon a connection request from another device, restricts a login to the image processing device 204 at a port restriction part 102 in dependence on the type of a communication protocol used in the connection request. Next user information inputted for the login to the image processing device 204 from the other device or directly is received. A user authentication part 104 checks, for authentication, the received user information against identification information about users permitted in advance to use the image processing device 204, and according to the authentication result, permits or prohibits the login to the image processing device 204.
