PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an adverse effect on a distance for braking stop even in a tire of flexible structure, so as to keep safe travel. SOLUTION: This method/device is provided with a detected means provided in a portion near a tread part of the tire, and a waveform shaping means for shaping a rotation signal obtained from a noncontact type detecting means attached to a vehicle opposed to the detected means. A reflection type photoelectric sensor, a magnetic sensor, or an eddy current sensor may be used as the noncontact type detecting means. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
