PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thread toothpick for efficiently clearing away the yellowish color and stains on the side of a tooth and plaque, and removing things caught between teeth. SOLUTION: The profile of the thread of the thread toothpick is such one that the middle part is parallel, the cross-sectional form is gradually increased in thickness toward both sides (tapered and swollen) to be elliptical, and grooves (sharp corners) are provided in the periphery of every part at fixed intervals. When the thus formed thread toothpick is slid between the teeth, and moved forward and backward and obliquely, the grooves provided in 360 degrees in the toothpick are functioned to remove plaque, yellowish color and stains. Since bleeding from the gum is caused by accident in the case of using the toothpick or since the conventional thread toothpick is made of thread, germs increase in summer, so it is not good in view of oral hygiene.
