The oven has a baking chamber (2), a blower chamber (3) separated from it via an air guide (4) with intake and outlets. The blower chamber contains a blower, a heater (7), and a catalyst (10). The catalyst is disc-shaped and is positioned in the intake aperture (8) of the air guide so as to be removable. The air guide is formed by a mainly rectangular plate, and the catalyst has structural sections with a filter function, esp. honeycomb-shaped. The catalyst is aligned flat with the side of the air guide facing the baking chamber, which in turn is pref. aligned with the door aperture (5), when the oven is in use.
