PURPOSE: A statistics method for collecting channel resource statistics in a mobile communication system is provided to collect channel resource statistics by calls according to a type of resource occupation of a base station. CONSTITUTION: When a mobile terminal transmits a message requesting call destination or call origination to a source base station, a call processor of the source base station senses it(S31), allocates a channel resource to allow a corresponding call to occupy the corresponding channel resource(S32), and drives the first holding timer and calculates the first holding time(S33). When the mobile terminal is moved to a different area where a target base station belongs, a call processor of the target base station receives a handoff request from the mobile terminal(S34) and transmits a soft add information message to the source base station(S35). The call processor of the target base station allocates a channel resource to allow the corresponding call to occupy it(S36), and drives the second handoff holding timer and calculates the second handoff holding time(S37). The call process of the source base station checks whether the soft add information message has been received(S38). If the soft add information message has been received, the call processor of the source base station stops the first holding timer and stores the first holding time(S39). The call process of the source base station drives the first handoff holding timer and calculates the first handoff holding time(S40). When the set source call is terminated, the call processor of the source base station checks it(S41), sends a soft drop information message to the target base station(S42), releases the call, and retrieves the channel resource(S43). The call processor of the source base station collects the statistics data(the first handoff holding time) and stores it(S44).
