摘要 PURPOSE: A plasma display panel and a front electrode are provided to achieve improved stability of discharge without degrading an aperture ratio, by forming a space between main electrode units and permitting the space to serve as a virtual electrode. CONSTITUTION: A front electrode of a plasma display panel comprises an X-sustain electrode(420) and a Y-sustain electrode(430) made of an opaque metal in unit discharge cells. Each of the X-sustain electrode and the Y-sustain electrode includes a terminal electrode unit(421), main electrode units, and branch electrode units(425,435). The main electrode units include first main electrode units(422,432) and second main electrode units(423,433) which are connected with each other through the branch electrode units and extended in parallel with each other with spaces(424,434) formed therebetween, respectively. The spaces serve as virtual electrodes, and have sizes where intensities of electric fields generated by the first and second main electrode units affect.
