PURPOSE: A rough washing method for a drum type washing machine is provided to operate the washing machine in optimum condition by checking hardness of water and input of detergent in rough washing. CONSTITUTION: A rough washing method for a drum type washing machine includes following steps. A rough washing is operated by supplying detergent for rough washing and water to a washing tub(S11,S12,S13,S14). Water dissolving detergent for rough washing is drained after rough washing and water is supplied to a first set water level(S15,S16,S17). Hardness of water is measured by measuring conductivity and temperature of water(S18,S19). Water is supplied to a second set water level and detergent for main washing is supplied(S20,S21,S22). Conductivity and temperature of water dissolving detergent for main washing is measured to measure quantity of detergent for main washing(S23,S24). Main washing is operated according to measured hardness of water and quantity of detergent for main washing(S25,S26). Thereby, washing performance is optimized by controlling washing time, a washing pattern, temperature and so forth. |
