PURPOSE: An operating method of a video phone system is provided to transmit video information with character information through a video coder while using a service of a video phone system through a wireless network, thereby performing smooth communication. CONSTITUTION: A system stores a character inputted through a user interface in a character input display region of an image display input buffer. The system maps the stored character input display region with a video input buffer, maps a screen of the character input display region with a video display in PIP(Picture In Picture) type, and displays the mapped data. The system converts the data mapped with the video input buffer into YUV color space data. The system performs a moving image encoding process for the YUV color space data, and transmits the encoded YUV color space data to a video phone system of other party.
