PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form the external electrode of a multilayer ceramic capacitor efficiently, while an ensuring appropriate conduction condition between a wiring layer and the external electrode. SOLUTION: External electrode 28 of a multilayer ceramic capacitor 10 is formed by making through holes 26 in a plurality of ceramic sheets 20 laid in layers at a plurality of different positions thereof and then filling the through holes 26 with a conductive material. The through holes 26 are made by repeating a process CY for irradiating respective boring positions sequentially with a laser beam 50 several times thereby making deeper the hole at each boring position gradually.
