The invention relates to a vaccine which can induce protection against illnesses caused by a lentivirus infection, especially an infection caused by the feline leucosis virus (FeLV). One such vaccine contains codon-optimised DNA sequences which code for structural proteins and the most important membrane protein of the FeLV.
