Described is a method for processing a matrix code consisting of a plurality of pixels, wherein a grey or colour value is assigned to each pixel, said method consisting of the following steps: each pixel is associated with a digital value according to the grey or colour value thereof in relation to a first threshold value; each pixal is associated with one or several classes according to the digital value of one or several adjacent pixels; and each pixel of a class is associated with a digital value according to the grey or colour value thereof in relation to a class-specific threshold value. Preferably, an image file containing the matrix code is pre-processed in order to apply said method. The matrix code is represented by a plurality of pixels in the image file. One or several non-fixed pixels are associated with each pixel and the pixels of adjacent pixels are separated by one or several non-fixed pixels. According to the inventive method, the pixels which are fixed are those separating two such adjacent pixels which are associated with the respectively fixed pixels. |
