<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recirculate a great deal of cooled EGR gas to an engine, reducing load on a cooling system of the engine with no need for a larger EGR cooler. <P>SOLUTION: An exhaust gas recirculation device is composed so that a predetermined amount of EGR gas is recirculated from an exhaust passage 13 of a diesel engine 11 having a turbo supercharger 12 to an air intake passage 14 of the engine through a first EGR pipe 21 having an EGR cooler 16. An intercooler 19 is provided on the air intake passage between the turbo supercharger and the engine. An exhaust gas treatment device 20 is provided on the exhaust passage between the turbo supercharger and a muffler 17. A second EGR pipe 22 branched from the exhaust passage between the exhaust gas treatment device and the muffler, communicates to the air intake passage at upper stream side above the turbo supercharger. Recirculation flow amount variable means 23 changes the amount of EGR gas flowing inside the first EGR pipe and the second EGR pipe respectively, according to the operation condition of the engine. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
