<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize consumption energy required for the control with holding responsiveness of turning over a variable compression ratio mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: The variable compression ratio mechanism changes a compression ratioεcorresponding to a rotational position of a control shaft. The control shaft is driven with a rotary hydraulic actuator 5. There are comprised of a low pressure hydraulic source equipped with an oil gallery of engine lubricating system and a high pressure hydraulic source equipped with an electrically driven high pressure hydraulic pump 25 and a hydraulic actuator 26, and controlled with a directional control valve 15 and an on-off valve 29. When holding in a high pressure ratio condition, low pressure working fluid is introduced from the oil gallery to compensate the leakage. When changing over the compression ratioε, the on-off valve 29 is opened to introduce high pressure working fluid. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
