<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in a MPEG-4 AVC video stream having no start code that re-synchronization cannot be taken on the occurrence of an error. <P>SOLUTION: In the case of arranging the MPEG-4 AVC video stream in compliance with the MP4, a code NAL_LEN provided before a code NAL_UNIT is processed as a quasi-start code to attain re-synchronization on the occurrence of an error. That is, a data stream X1, management data Y, and a data stream X2 are consecutively received, the data streams X1, X2 having no incidence of a predetermined particular pattern P, the pattern P is searched from the consecutively received streams and data, a relative position of the pattern P in the management data Y is assumed on the basis of the property of the pattern P which is located in front of the management data Y with a high probability, a start position of the management data Y is assumed on the basis of the assumed relative position, and the management data Y and part of the data stream X2 in succession to the management data Y are decoded in order to verify whether or not the assumed position of the management data Y is correct. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
