摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a metal body developing an interference color which can be colored in a vivid hue compared with coloring of low saturation by an electrolytic coloring method, and can also be colored into a uniform deep color, and in which desired colors from light colors to deep colors can be controlled to desired concentration with high reproducibility. SOLUTION: The surface of a metal on which a transparent anode oxidation coating can be formed is subjected to anode oxidation to form a barrier layer. Thereafter, anode electrolysis is performed in an aqueous solution of metal sulfide such as antimony thiomolybdate to form an optical reflective layer on the barrier layer. Suitably, in the barrier layer forming stage, the anode oxidation treatment is performed in a weak-alkali to alkalescent electrolytic solution, and, in the optical reflective layer forming stage, the anode electrolysis is performed under a voltage higher by 0.1 to 20V than that in the anode oxidation treatment in the barrier layer forming stage. On coloring into a deeper color, the optical reflective layer forming stage is repeatedly performed, or, after the optical reflective layer forming stage, the anode oxidation treatment and/or the anode electrolysis in an aqueous solution of metal sulfide is further repeatedly performed.
