PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring device of curvature of a magnetic tape for exactly measuring a value of curvature of the magnetic tape. SOLUTION: The device is provided with an attracting stage 9 for restricting a cupping by attracting the magnetic tape MT moving toward a reel 2 from a pancake 1 and a plurality of opening parts 12 opening upward and downward on the attracting stage 9 while keeping spaces from an upstream to a downstream for the purpose of detecting the position of one side edge H of the magnetic tape MT at a plurality of points by light projectors 3a and light receivers 3b. Further, a reel driving means is arranged for making the magnetic tape MT run for every unit length by driving the reel 2 to the winding side, and the light projectors 3a and the light receivers 3b are arranged so as to vertically hold each opening part 12 between them for the purpose of detecting the position of one side edge H of the magnetic tape MT in the breadth direction of the tape for each opening part 12.
