PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric elevating device for a luminaire for preventing intruding dust and gas, etc. inside the device. SOLUTION: The device has grooves 15C at upper end portions of covers 2, 3 of an elevating part 9. Since the device is formed so as to seal the inside of a main body 1 when an exterior portion on the side of the main body 1 is contacted with the covers 2, 3, it is possible to separate contacts, a wire rope 6, a micro switch, etc. from open air, prevent the dust and the gas, etc. from intruding, and prevent contact defects and oxidizing of contact portions of contact points 20, 21.
