PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera capable of switching its mode to a transmission mode or a storage mode and transferring an image at proper timing. SOLUTION: The digital camera is provided with a wireless communication means capable of transmitting a photographed image to an image reception destination. The digital camera switches its mode to the transmission mode wherein the digital camera transmits a photographed image just after photographing or to the storage mode wherein the digital camera records the photographed image after the photographing to a built-in recording medium. When the camera is started, the digital camera confirms whether or not the image transmission to the image reception destination is enabled, when the image transmission is enabled, the camera is started in the transmission mode, and when the image transmission is disabled, the camera is started in the storage mode.
