PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine oil degradation detector capable of correctly grasping the history on the oil change, and useful for elucidation of causes of engine troubles and the engine oil changing plan thereby. SOLUTION: The engine oil degradation detector comprises running condition detection means 2, 12 and 14 to detect running conditions VP and NE of an internal combustion engine 3, a means 2 to calculate parameters DISTADD and TTLREV to indicate the degree of degradation of engine oil EO based on the detected running condition of the internal combustion engine 3, means 2 and 16 to give a warning to promote the change of the engine oil EO when the value ROLF according to the oil degradation degree parameter reaches a predetermined value #REVCHK, and a means 2 to store an oil degradation influencing parameter.
