PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool which machines a work into a plurality of kinds of shapes without requiring exchange of mechanical elements including a cam. SOLUTION: This machine tool is furnished with: a first motor 35 to carry out reciprocal movement of a tool 13 against the work 40; the mechanical element 26 to decide the movement to advance and retreat in a direction orthogonal to a direction of the reciprocal movement; a second motor 36 to drive the mechanical element 26; and a control part to independently control the first motor 35 and the second motor 36.
