<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a contactless IC card whose data are to be read from deteriorating in quality while suppressing a steep rise in the cost of circuit components even when the IC card is made small-sized on the whole. <P>SOLUTION: An IC card 2 inserted into a card insertion slot 3 is guided by a guide roller up to a communication position where it is electromagnetically coupled to an antenna part 5. At the card insertion slot 3, a metallic traveling guide 5 is arranged which has a function of correcting deformation of the IC card 2. This traveling guide 6 has a slit 6f opened at an edge close to the antenna part 5. Consequently, an eddy current induced in the travel guide 6 with a magnetic field from the antenna part 5 is subdivided in the presence of the slit 6f. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
