<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to execute easily operation and management, for example, the allocation of a storage having a pair volume function to a host and the division of volume by using GUI from a client. <P>SOLUTION: When the host is selected and instructions for the allocation of the pair volume is made in a screen displaying hosts in a list form, an item for inputting a backup host which is allocated with a secondary volume is displayed. The information thus inputted on the backup host is stored in combination with the information on the pair volume. When the primary or secondary volume allocated to the hosts is displayed, the volume is selected and the instructions for dividing the volume is made in the screen displaying the hosts in a list form, secondary volume information and backup host information are retrieved from the storage part after a function to which a storage system corresponds is called, and an operating system on the backup host is called, and then the secondary volume is allocated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
