The inventive electroluminescent textile structure used, in particular for medical purposes comprises a flat support (2) and a plurality of electroluminescent elements (4) fixed thereto. Each electroluminescent element comprises an optical fibre (6) for light guiding and is accurately associated to each corresponding optical fibre (6). Said element comprises at least one output point formed by the local curvature of the optical fibre. Said local curvature is selected in such a way that light laterally exits from the optical fibre because of the absence of a total reflection.
