<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the selection of a content related to the equipment area of a connecting device under connection with a user terminal or a user-designated area in the use of an information providing service by the user by providing information for a content selection state related to the area concerned. <P>SOLUTION: An information providing device 100 performs an area designation according to the equipment area of the connecting device 200 under connection with the user terminal 300 or area designation information received from the user terminal 300, generates area related information for selecting the content, and transmits it to the user terminal 300.
