PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of adjusting and assembling capable of ensuring precise alignment of an optical writing print head consisting of a light emitting element and an imaging element without using a reference mark. SOLUTION: In a first step of the method of adjusting and assembling the optical writing print head, a reference light source is disposed on a side of an incident optical axis of the imaging element having at least an incident side lens array section and an emission side lens array section and a light is radiated toward the imaging element from the reference light source, and then a diameter of the collected light on the imaging position in a direction along the incident optical axis obtained by passing through the imaging element and a collecting position in a direction perpendicular to the direction along the emission optical axis are detected, thereby adjusting the position and the attitude of the imaging element. In a second step, a light emitting element array is disposed at the side of the incident optical axis instead of the reference light source and the light is radiated toward the adjusted imaging element from the light emitting element array, and then the diameter of the collected light on the imaging position obtained by passing through the imaging element and the collecting position in the direction perpendicular to the direction along the emission optical axis are detected, thereby adjusting the position and the attitude of the light emitting element array.
