PURPOSE: A device for preheating a light source lamp of a scanner and a controlling method thereof are provided to prevent power waste and lengthen lifetimes of parts by optimizing a preheating time when the scanner is not in use on a preset time or date. CONSTITUTION: A scanner module(200) turns on/off the light source lamp(210) depending on a control signal by equipping with the light source lamp. An operation panel(400) inputs an on/off time or date of the light source lamp by equipping with a numeric key, a function selecting key, and a display window. A controller(100) detects that the light source lamp control information. In case of the lamp-off time judged by the time data inputted from an RTC(Real Time Clock)(300), the controller makes the scanner module turn off the light source lamp. If a key input signal of the operation panel is inputted on the lamp-off state, or it is judged as the preset lamp-on time, the controller makes the scanner module switched to the preheating mode after making the scanner module turn on the light source lamp. |
