PURPOSE: An electric connector is provided to prevent the electric connector from being erroneously fitted into the counterpart connector. CONSTITUTION: An electric connector has a rectangular portion(13) at the section of a cylindrical fitting face(12) of a housing. The section of the cylindrical fitting face is perpendicular to a fitting direction. The cylindrical fitting face has a key or a key groove(14A) for preventing erroneous fitting. The fitting face has the cylindrical portion and rectangular portion. When the electric connector and the counterpart connector are erroneously fitted into each other, the cylindrical fitting face is guided to the fitting face of the counterpart connector such that the two connectors are easily fitted into each other.
