INTERACTIVE BROADCASTING SYSTEM AND METHOD USING RETURN CHANNEL

PURPOSE: An interactive broadcasting system and method using a return channel are provided to apply viewer's opinion or response to broadcast in real time and provide remote interactivity service irrespective of broadcasting programs. CONSTITUTION: An interactive broadcasting system includes a data broadcast transmission server(11), a return channel server(12) and a broadcasting terminal(13) connected through a broadcasting network(14) or an IP network(15) to the broadcasting system. The data broadcast transmission server transmits data broadcast to the broadcasting terminal through the broadcasting network. The return channel server exchanges data with the broadcasting terminal through the IP network. The return channel server provides an environment for executing a return channel server application program. The return channel server receives viewer's opinion or response, generates contents on which viewer's request and response have been reflected and provides the contents to viewers through the data broadcast transmission server or the IP network.
