UREIDO OR THIOUREIDO DERIVATIVES HAVING ANTI-CANCER ACTIVITY AND PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION COMPRISING THE SAME

PURPOSE: Provided are novel ureido or thioureido ceramide derivatives, which have anti-cancer activity and are non-toxic, and thus are useful for treating and preventing cancers and acute or chronic inflammatory diseases. CONSTITUTION: The ureido or thioureido derivatives are represented by formula I, wherein Y is O or S; each of R1 and R2 is H or a hydroxyl group; R3 is a substituent having an aromatic ring or a heterocyclic ring having a heteroatom selected from N, O and S, each of which is non-fused or fused to each other; and R4 is H or a C1-C20 alkyl group. Additionally, a pharmaceutical composition for anti-cancer treatments comprises the compound of formula I as an active component together with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
