PURPOSE: A brake lamp operating apparatus for a commercial vehicle is provided to prevent wrong operation in supplying power against foreign matters by turning on and off the operating switch conducting power to the brake lamp within the moving track of the brake pedal. CONSTITUTION: A brake lamp operating apparatus is composed of an operating rod(4) protruded and fixed to the back of a dual valve type brake pedal(1) for braking by pneumatic pressure of an air tank, and an operating switch(2) connected and disconnected from the battery in moving the operating rod to turn on a brake lamp(3). The operating switch has a housing(2a) mounted by a support bracket(2e) fixed in the floor, a contact point rod(2b) embedded in the housing to turn on the brake lamp by forming the electric contact point, a contact point ball(2c) contacted and separated from the operating rod and protruded from the housing to turn on and off the contact point rod, and a spring(2d) separating the contact point rod from the contact point ball in disconnecting the operating rod.
