The stop (A) for stabilization of a hip joint prosthesis cup fits into a seating in the cup (B) formed in a part of its thickness. The stop has lateral slide guides to resist articulation forces. The slide guides (2) are subdivided into two sections having points (5) forming hooked sections which snap fit into a recess (6) at each side edge of the seating.
