PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polylactic acid resin composition obtained by synthesis from a regenerable resource such as a plant resource, which has good transparency, flexibility, and blocking resistance, and excels in compatibility, and to provide a molded article therefrom. SOLUTION: The biodegradable resin composition obtained by synthesis from the regenerable resource and comprising a polylactic polymer (A) having L-lactic acid and/or D-lactic acid as the major component and the molded article therefrom comprise modified starch (B) and a glycerol fatty acid ester (C) containing≥75 mass% diacetylmonoacyl glycerol having an 8-16C saturated fatty acid.
