A system of straps attached to a back shield (9) is guided around the thighs (17), the shoulders (18) and across the chest (1) of the person in danger. When the front buckle (12, 13) is taken from a pocket (3) a particular safety unit is also released. A rope (4) can be joined to a suitable object before jumping. By pulling the rope (4) a lid (8) is removed from a soft cylindrical container accommodating a parachute, which is automatically opened by the forces acting on a small auxiliary parachute while moving toward the ground.
