PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for selecting optimum hypothesis reduction method in response to a new target generation frequency and an erroneous signal generation frequency, and a new target generation frequency setting means in response to a position of an observed vector and a class discrimination result of an already tracked target, in a target tracking device. SOLUTION: A hypothesis reduction method setting part 19 and a hypothesis reduction method database 20 are attached to an assumption reduction part 21 of a conventional target tracking device. A target observation device 2, a position-by-position new target generation frequency database 23, a target class discrimination device 24 and a target-by-target new target generation frequency database 25 are attached to a new target generation frequency calculating part 17a, and a new target generation frequency value is set in response to positional information of the observed vector and the class discrimination result of the already tracked target.
