PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slot machine capable of making a player feel surprise and unexpectedness and enhancing the player's expectation and satisfaction when an initiation of the operation is achieved by providing a prescribed "operation initiation game", different from a reel rotating/stopping game. SOLUTION: In the slot machine, a game is played by the stopping operation of a plurality of reels, whose rotation is started by the starting operation, so that symbols on the reels are stopped in prescribed arrangement for winning. The slot machine comprises a control means for controlling the rotation and stopping motion of the reels in each game and controlling the game state to a specific game state in a prescribed game, an operation initiation game control part for controlling the prescribed operation initiation game to be the initiation of the operation to start the specific game state, different from the reel rotating/stopping game, in the prescribed game, and an operation initiation game display part 40 for displaying the operation initiation game. The specific game state is started by the control means in the prescribed game thereafter based on establishment of a prescribed condition for the initiation of the operation in the operation initiation game.
