PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus to easily and environmentally safely discard ink such as waste wet toner or waste ink from an electrophotographic printing apparatus. SOLUTION: The method includes processes of: providing electrophotographic ink 78 from a storage source 76; combining the ink with an absorbent 88 housed in a container 86 to produce a solid for disposal; and closing the container so that the container having the solid for disposal inside is treated while preventing the ink from flowing from the container.
